Are Suite 2000 applications now 64-bit?
No. All Suite 2000 applications are 32-bit.The change made in V3.20 allows them to be installed and used on 64-bit operating systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 for Terminal Services).
Can I upgrade my Windows XP or 2000 workstation to Vista or Windows 7, using the “In place installation” or "Clean Installation”, and still use Suite 2K?
This type of system upgrade is not supported. Call Powerway Technical Support for more information about this procedure.
What version of Suite 2000 do I have to be on to install this upgrade?
CD – V1.03 or greater or Desktop V5.04 or greater
Can I install a new version of Suite 2000 v3.30 on a Windows 2000 workstation?
No. You can only upgrade an existing Suite installation on a Windows 2000 workstation. We recommend moving to a newer windows version as soon as possible.
Why aren’t my help files working now that I am on Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008?
Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 do not support the help file format is used in Suite 2000, V3.30. Microsoft has posted on their web site a Knowledge Base article download that will allow Vista or Windows Server 2008 to read our help files. I cannot open Help files that require the Windows Help (WinHlp32.exe) program.
Why can’t my Terminal Server users launch Desktop after I installed v3.30?
After the server administrator has upgraded the Terminal Server Desktop using TSSetup, each Terminal Server user will need to run the TSUserSetup to complete the upgrade. Desktop will not launch for a user until this is done. This is not normally needed but is required for this upgrade. For this upgrade TSUserSetup can be run un-attended and requires no command line parameters. NOTE: If upgrading from V3.00 or a later version, this extra TSUserSetup is not required.
Do my users have to be Windows Administrators on their workstation to run Suite 2000?
Suite 2000 no longer requires users to be Windows administrators to use the software. New installs will automatically get this new benefit. In the Group Edition is a utility provided in the WSSetup\Remap directory that will do a conversion for existing installations to enable this support. If existing personal installs wish to convert they should contact Powerway Support for instructions. Terminal Services has never required a user be a Windows administrator to do a TSUserSetup or use the software. In all cases we still require a Windows administrator to install the software.
