If the Core documents are NOT listed in the dialog, either they have never been formally approved to make them current, or someone has renamed the project documents in Document Manager and not changed the indexing for Quality Planner Project to match. Without the indexing, the core documents don’t match the project title so they are not displayed.
1. Click Tools in the top menu bar.
2. Select Customer Pool.
3. Highlight your customer.
4. Click Edit.
5. Click the SC Symbols button.
6. If your customer already has some symbols selected, you do not want to lose these selections, so hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard before you select the new symbols. Doing so will ensure that all of the previous selections will be kept.
7. Highlight the desired symbol(s).
8. Click OK.
9. Since that was the only change we wanted to make to your customer, click OK.
10. The system will return you to the list of Customers. Click OK to save your work and exit the pool. This added the symbol to your customer. Now let’s get the information into your project.
11. With your project open, click Project on the top Menu Bar, then Edit Project Information.
12. You will be prompted to confirm your credentials so type your password and click ok.
13. Your project was created using the information associated to your project as it was at the time of project creation but you have modified that now and we need to update the project with the latest information so we need to reselect the customer from the pool. Even though your project probably already shows the correct customer, select Pool…
14. Select your customer from the list and the click OK.
15. Once you are back to the Project Information dialog, click OK again.
16. Now your special characteristic(s) should be available for selection in your project documents, such as your control plan. Open your Control Plan document. You may be prompted with some Project Differences as below. Click Update if you see a similar prompt.
17. Now when you select the drop down menu for special characteristics, the symbols you associated to this customer will be available for selection.
